Lalela Mswane has just been crowned Miss South Africa 2021 in Cape Town at the Grand Arena, GrandWest Casino and Entertainment centre.
From KwaSokhulu, Richards Bay in KwaZulu-Natal, Mswane, 24 is a model and dancer plus has a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Pretoria.
Judges were captivated by Mswane, who describes herself as graceful, tenacious and meticulous. She would love to meet the Minister of Employment and Labour, Thulas Nxesi, to discuss ways of alleviating the growing unemployment problem.
As Miss South Africa 2021 she is taking home a package of prizes and sponsorships worth more than R4 million when she takes the crown from reigning Miss South Africa Shudufhadzo Musida.
She will receive R1 million in cash from the Miss South Africa Organisation, as well as the use of a fully furnished and serviced apartment at the luxurious Central Square Sandton, with fabulous interior décor by Vursa and a Mercedes Benz C-Class Sedan for the year of her reign.
The two runners-up were Moratwe Masima, a qualified doctor from Midrand in Gauteng, and BCom Law degree student Zimi Mabunzi from eQonce (King William’s Town) Eastern Cape. Both received R175 000.
Again this year, the top three finalists will represent South Africa at the world’s three most prestigious pageants – Miss World, Miss Universe and Miss Supranational. Only in the days after Miss South Africa 2021 is crowned and the other top two are announced, will the Miss South Africa Organisation decide which candidate would do the best at which competition.
Miss South Africa is presented by Weil Entertainment in association with M-Net, Mzansi Magic, Sun International and the City of Cape Town.
