Catch M-Net’s 30th Birthday TV Special

M-Net recently celebrated 30 years of magic and superb storytelling with star-studded gala events. These spectacular evenings were filmed for television and packaged into a special 90-minute extravaganza which will be screened on several of the channels within the M-Net family this December.

The M-Net 30th Birthday TV Special will premiere on M-Net 101 on Friday, 16 December at 17:00 and thereafter DStv customers can enjoy all of the festivities – and great music acts – on Mzansi Magic, kykNET, M-Net Family, Mzansi Wethu and kykNET & Kie. (See broadcast times and dates for the different channels below).

True to form, in a stunt that you would expect from Africa’s pioneering television network, the show’s host is internationally-acclaimed comedian Trevor Noah, who made his appearance in a quirky, unprecedented way –  in the form of a hologram! In between Trevor’s witty take on the ways in which M-Net changed the face of entertainment and giving the audience a trip down memory lane, viewers will be entertained by some splendid song and dance too. Among the evening’s entertainers are songbird Lira, who co-hosted the show, the legendary Claire Johnston, Idols Season 12 winner Khaya Mthethwa, The Parlotones, The Voice SA winner Richard Stirton, Themba Ndaba, The Muses and Nigerian superstar 2face Idibia.

As a special gift to all the magic makers who have contributed to M-Net’s incredible success story – from stars and TV producers to its millions of viewers – M–Net has also compiled an eBook filled with memories, magic moments and milestones. The free eBook is available at www.mnetcorporate.co.za.

“The TV Special and eBook are a special thank you to everyone who has been part of the M-Net journey,” says M-Net’s CEO, Yolisa Phahle. “People have always been the key ingredient of our business and trailblazing history and we appreciate all the support over 30 years.”
