The very name, Magic Mike, evokes a certain sense of sensuality, mystery and it goes without saying, a night of unadulterated, dance thrill. Off the back of two successful seasons, Magic Mike SA Season 3 is about to hit the stage and this season is bigger and better than before.
“The purpose of dance and art is to transport those who are experiencing it to a place of fantasy…a place where they feel good,” emphasises show Producer, Neil Basel. The team of creative professionals incorporates renowned South African show Director Warren Batchelor (Director of the award-winning documentary ‘204: Getting Away with Murder’, and Miss World Pageants) and Creative Director and Choreographer, Quintus Jansen (Strictly Come Dancing, So You Think You Can Dance, Big Brother Africa, Clash of the Choirs) along with his co-choreographic team). “The show is centred on entertainment around the five senses,” says Jansen who conceptualised the show, “It’s a sensory experience unlike anyone has experienced before.”
Batchelor confirms this: “Season 3 tantalises the senses and ultimately, yes, this is a sexy, sensual and slightly risque show, but it’s also got that touch of class that makes this exceptional entertainment and the reason why it’s being launched as a theatre show.” Batchelor also explains, “Audiences will be experience sensational dance entertainment combined with sensual strip tease, that takes them through the sense of sight, taste, sound, smell and touch…each one created to delight and make you feel superb.”
