In preparation for the upcoming festive season, celebrated chef Lorna Maseko-Lukhele together with Torie Van Der Merwe, head Chef of The Cod Father invite food lovers across Johannesburg to indulge a little and feast on a Christmas cooking experience like no other. Cooking with Lorna and Friends, which launched in December 2014, promises to ignite one’s passion for cooking, bringing together those who share a common love for cuisine and entertainment. The experience is specially designed to help build confidence in the kitchen and remind everyone that cooking and entertaining during the holidays shouldn’t be an intimidating chore but rather a fun-filled, charming occasion for everyone.
This year, Lorna has collaborated with likes of renowned chef Benny Masekwameng as well as Michelin Start chef from Chicago, Carlos Gaytan – who prepared a magnificent six course tasting menu. This time around, each guest will become their own celebrity chef as they get to replicate one of Lorna’s delicious recipes, all of which will be given to The Rivers Foundation to feed a hungry tummy.
Guests will not only have the opportunity to cook off against each other but will be treated to an impeccable five star meal prepared by The Cod Father whilst sipping on G.H. Mumm; beauty tips from Elizabeth Arden; and exclusive pamper sessions courtesy of Camelot Spa.
“What makes this cooking experience really exciting and interactive, is that guests become their own chefs as opposed to participating in the standard cooking classes. It will be a glamourous occasion. They become the masterminds behind their cooking station, and they absolutely love it,” says Lorna. The experience promises to be a true awakening of the senses, as Lorna shares exclusive tips on food and entertaining for the festive season.
